How to Disassemble a Nordictrack Treadmill?
Is your NordicTrack treadmill not functioning properly? Or maybe you are just looking to make some upgrades. Whatever the case may be, this blog post is for you. We will go over step-by-step instructions on how to disassemble a NordicTrack treadmill and what tools you will need in order to do so.
Disconnect the treadmill from power by unplugging it
First, you will need to disconnect the NordicTrack treadmill from power. To do so, simply unplug it from the main power source by pulling out its plug and setting it off to the side.
Remove the safety key, which should be on top of the console
Next, you will need to remove the NordicTrack treadmill safety key. This should be located on top of the console and can easily be taken off with your hands by rotating it counterclockwise until it comes loose and then pulling up on it.
Unscrew all bolts that are holding the console in place (there will be 12)
Now it is time to unscrew the NordicTrack treadmill console. This should be able to be done with your hands by rotating each bolt counterclockwise until they are completely loose and then pulling them up from the frame of the NordicTrack treadmill. You will need a total of 12 bolts that you’ll want to remove, so be sure to work your way around the NordicTrack treadmill console in a circle.
Now just unscrew all bolts holding the NordicTrack treadmill console in place. There will be 12 total, so working on the perimeter of the NordicTrack treadmill console and make counterclockwise rotation until they are loose before removing them from the frame.
Lift up and pull away from your body to remove the console
Now that all of the NordicTrack treadmill console bolts are removed, you will be able to lift up and pull away from your body. You may need to use both hands for this step in order to fully remove it.
Lift the NordicTrack treadmill console off the frame using one or two hands if needed before removing completely.
Once the NordicTrack treadmill console is removed you will be able to see all of the NordicTrack treadmill parts that are underneath it. You may want to take a few minutes now and write down what each part does in order to make disassembling easier later on when we go over this list together.
Using a NordicTrack treadmill hex wrench, you will now need to remove the screws that are holding the nordictrack treadmill rails in place at the bottom. There should be eight total and it is important not to mix up their placement when removing them for later use.

Before removing nordictrack treadmill rails and belt assembly, you will need to disconnect the wires that are connected to the motor for storage or replacement. Be sure not to pull on them too hard though in order not to break any cables.
Remove NordicTrack treadmill rail screws with NordicTrack treadmill hex wrench
Slide nordictrack treadmill belt assembly and rails out from nordictrack treadmill console before removing them completely, along with any remaining screws that are holding the nordictrack treadmills parts in place. You will want your nordictack treadmill pretty much empty so you can easily access all nordictrack treadmill parts.
Tools you need for Nordictrack Treadmill
Towel or Blanket: The NordicTrack treadmill will have a lot of screws and parts that can easily roll and disappear. Putting down something to put on top so you can see what you’re looking for is very helpful.
Screwdriver Bit Set (Phillips Head): This is needed in order to unscrew the various NordicTrack treadmills parts from their mainframe. (The Phillips head screwdriver bit set will be used only if your NordicTrack has Phillips head screws).
New Treadmill Belt: You’ll need one of these since yours are most likely either broken, old, or worn out. A new belt ensures an even surface for running without any bumps in the NordicTrack belt.
Lubricant: This is needed in order to keep the NordicTrack from squeaking and make it move freely.
Hammer: This can be used as a last resort if none of these other tools work.

How to adjust the belt on a NordicTrack treadmill?
Now it is time to figure out how the NordicTrack treadmill belt works. You’ll want the NordicTrack treadmill as empty so you can easily access all NordicTrack parts.
To adjust the NordicTrack treadmill belt, simply loosen up the tension knob located on the back of the NordicTrack treadmills console and then pull the NordicTrack treadmill belt over the NordicTrack treadmills frame. To tighten the NordicTrack treadmill belt, just rotate the tension knob until you’ve reached the desired tightness and then gently push the NordicTrack treadmill belt back into place on the NordicTrack treadmills console.
